Hi, I’m Donnisa. I’m a sixth year neuroscience Ph.D. student who is also passionate about science writing and communication.
My research focuses on studying connections between sub-cortical brain regions like the amygdala and anterior insula and the rest of the brain. I do this in humans using functional MRI.
My writing focuses on all things health and science related, but I particularly love covering topics related to the brain and to health equity.
Outside of the lab and writing, I love going to the movie theater, hanging out my cat Dolce, and going to concerts. You can actually check out my story about what happens in the brain during live music here.
